Some Things to Think
About
- Buy a brand-new notebook and write
down a new idea or opportunity that
comes to mind every day. At the end of
the month, go back over your notebook.
Some pages won't make any sense, and
some will seem silly or impossible. But
chances are, one or two will make you
some money.
- NFL quarterbacks spend hours and
hours studying films of their opponents.
You should make a habit of reading the
business pages of your daily newspaper,
the Wall Street Journal,
Forbes, Business Week and
magazines aimed at entrepreneurs and
small businesspeople, such as Success
and Inc. They're filled with case
studies of people who have translated
opportunities into thriving companies.
- Read new publications, listen to new
radio stations, watch different TV news
shows. Buy out-of-town newspapers every
so often. The change in perspective will
help you learn to look at things in new
ways.
